A teenage driver and his co-driver were killed in a rally sprint incident in New Zealand.

The two unfortunate victims were 35-year-old Tyson Jemmett and teenager Brooklyn Horan.

Horan and Jemmet were racing in the Arcadia Road Rallysprint in Paparoa when their car collided with a river.

The vehicle veered off the gravel road and into a flooded river, per a police investigator.

At the site, first responders declared both of them deceased.

Officially, MotorSport New Zealand confirmed that Horan was driving the vehicle when it crashed.

Although younger drivers can compete in some events, New Zealanders must be 16 years old to obtain a driver’s license.

The junior driver program “means that people aged 12 to 16 can get a competition license,” according to the website of MotorSport New Zealand.

According to MotorSport, young drivers frequently participate in these events.

However, the company has stated that a thorough inquiry would be conducted.

According to a MotorSport release, “the event took place on Arcadia Road in Paparoa, which was closed to the public for the duration of the event under the authority of the local Road Controlling Authority.”

“Although it is too early in the investigation to speculate on the primary causes of the crash, it does not appear that the road was in a hazardous or detrimental state.”

“It was with a heavy heart that we heard the breaking news that Brooklyn died while doing the very thing our families loved together,” stated Hodgson Motorsport.

Angel Salazar, the actor who brought to life the character Chi Chi in the iconic film Scarface, has passed away at the age of 68.

Known for his memorable roles and energetic performances, Salazar made a significant mark in Hollywood, particularly with his portrayal of Al Pacino’s loyal sidekick Chi Chi in the gangster movie directed by Brian DePalma.

His agent and close friend, Ann Wingsong, shared the news with TMZ, explaining that Salazar peacefully passed away over the weekend in his sleep at a friend’s residence in Brooklyn.

According to Wingsong, Salazar’s friend went to check on him on Sunday morning, only to find him unresponsive in his bed.

While the official cause of death wasn’t disclosed, it was noted that Salazar had a history of heart problems.

Salazar brought his vibrant personality to the stage as well, often punctuating his stand-up comedy routines with his signature phrase, “Sheck it out.”

His breakthrough role came with Scarface in 1983, where he played Chi Chi, the ever-faithful bodyguard of Tony Montana, depicted by Al Pacino.

Audiences remember Chi Chi not just for his loyalty, but for his crucial role in the film’s intense and unforgettable “chainsaw scene.”

An accident killed the CEO of the big private shipping company Foremost. She was the sister of Elaine Chao, who used to be the US Transportation Secretary.

Angela Chao was a leader in the maritime industry. She was the daughter of Foremost founder James SC Chao and the sister-in-law of Senator Mitch McConnell.

In a statement that The U.S. Sun got, her family’s shipping company, Foremost Group, confirmed her sad death.

They said Chao “placed special emphasis on paying attention to the care and well-being of our crews” & “played a role in performing our services.”

People at the US Coast Guard Academy also thought of her and sent their condolences on social media.

“Angela was a trailblazer in the maritime industry and a true friend of the Academy,” the school said.

“Her grace, compassion and leadership will be remembered by all who knew her.”

Chao finished both Harvard College and Harvard Business School. After that, she worked for a few years at the financial firm Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

In 2018, she became CEO of her dad’s business.

Her 96-year-old father, who was deeply saddened by her death, wrote a sad statement in which he called her a “brilliant woman” and “a charismatic and visionary leader.”

“She smiled and laughed all the time. “She deeply believed that family, friends, and helping others are the most important things in life,” the statement said.

“Angela’s name sounds like the Chinese characters for peace and wealth.”

“She gave this world a lot more than her fair share of both.”

“Losing her at such a young age is something we never even imagined, and our entire family is devastated with grief.”

It was very sad that the Asian American Foundation said that Chao was a “beloved philanthropist and respected leader” in a statement released after her death.

Throughout her successful career, she always said that her family was what drove her.

Chao’s Harvard Business College profile says, “Like her father, mother, and sisters, Angela Chao’s life has been built on a foundation of respect for her parents and a commitment to living a good, kind life.”

“She believes the true treasures of life are found in family friends, and in giving back to society.”

Chao’s father, her husband, and her four sisters will all miss her.

Ruth Mulan Chu Chao, her mother, died in 2007 of lymphoma.

I (30F) went out to a good restaurant with my husband (30M) yesterday night to celebrate his recent promotion. Everything was going great until the very end, when the waitress wrecked it with her arrogant attitude.

When the check arrived, I tipped $10 on top of the $85 bill. As the waitress picked up the money, she scowled and exclaimed, “Ten bucks?” This isn’t the 1950s anymore, hou understand.”

I was stunned. Her tone was both arrogant and harsh. My husband’s eyes widened with disbelief.

“Excuse me?” I said, instantly annoyed. “I think ten bucks on an $85 bill is more than fair.”

The waitress rolled her eyes dramatically. “It’s a standard 20% tip these days, cheapskate. Do you not know how to calculate that?”

I couldn’t believe her snotty attitude. That $10 was over 11%, which is a decent tip by any measure. Her entitlement really rubbed me the wrong way.

I’ll confess I probably overreacted, but her arrogant, condescending attitude enraged me. She deserved nothing more after treating a customer so disrespectfully. “Can you breathe?” he asks, sensing the gravity of the issue. The woman’s condition worsens as her complexion turns an unsettling bluish tint, and she expresses her inability to breathe through yet another refusal motion.

The hillbilly takes a vital step, bridging the space between their tables with a mix of arrogance and tenderness.

He lifts her dress and expertly drops her undergarments, immediately applying a lick to her right buttock with his tongue, drawing on an odd remedy steeped in his hillbilly wisdom.

The result is astonishing: the woman’s shock causes a severe spasm that dislodges the impediment restricting her airway.

She feels tremendous relief as the object is evacuated, her airway clears, and her breathing is restored. In the uproar, the hillbilly returns to his table. His actions have saved the day in an unexpected but effective manner.

His partner, who is similarly astounded by the unconventional technique, joins in with a mix of fun and surprise. “Well, I’d heard of the ‘Hind Lick Maneuver,’ but seeing it done firsthand is a sight to behold, ain’t it?”

The event becomes a story that will be told repeatedly, spreading throughout the region as proof of the unexpected ways human ingenuity can prevail over adversity.

A routine visit to Taco Bell with my daughter turned alarming when I noticed a man with a hand concealed by a T-shirt. Trusting my instincts, we quickly left, only to later discover that the man had robbed the restaurant at gunpoint, making our quick exit a crucial decision.

During a backyard pizza party, a sudden and inexplicable sense of dread prompted me to move the children inside. Shortly after, a massive pine branch crashed onto the table where we had been sitting, narrowly missing us. My instincts likely saved us from injury.

Finally, a scuba diving adventure in Asia took a terrifying turn when, moments into our dive, we spotted a massive white shark lurking near us. The encounter, marked by the shark’s menacing presence, made our ascent feel like an eternity. These experiences demonstrate that sometimes, real-life scenarios can be more frightening than fiction, highlighting the importance of trusting one’s instincts in dangerous situations.
