Should Parents Really Ask Their Babies for Consent Before Changing Diapers? This ‘Expert’ Thinks So!

Let’s face it, everyone’s got an opinion these days. With the Internet, voicing those opinions has never been easier. The hilarious part? The weirder the opinion, the more headlines it grabs. And this one? It’s grabbing headlines like crazy.

Imagine being a parent and hearing an ‘expert’ suggest that you should ask your baby for permission before changing their diaper. Sounds absurd, right? Well, welcome to the latest episode of ” , “where someone’s strange idea goes viral.

Meet Deanne Carson, a self-proclaimed relationship and sexuality educator, speaker and author. She believes parents should check in with their babies before diving into diaper duty. Yes, you heard right. Ask. The. Baby.

Now, we get it – consent is a hot topic. But asking a baby for permission to change their dirty diaper? Even experienced parents are rolling their eyes at this one.

Changing diapers is far from a parent’s favorite task. It’s messy, often thankless, but absolutely essential for a baby’s health and happiness. And adding the ritual of asking for consent? That’s like adding fuel to an already blazing fire.

Carson’s advice, shared on ABC back in 2018, emphasizes starting consent education at a very young age. While older toddlers might grasp the concept, she believes even infants should be part of this consent culture.

The kicker? Babies can’t exactly verbalize their consent. But Carson argues they can give nonverbal signals, like eye contact, to show they’re on board.

While the intent behind creating a culture of consent is noble, some might say it falls short in practical execution. Carson detailed how asking and waiting for a baby’s cues could foster deeper communication between parents and toddlers.

The reactions? Priceless. Reporters and viewers alike were quick to question the feasibility. What would a parent do if the baby ‘said’ no?

Imagine, scenario: “May I change your diaper, sweetie?” Baby glares. Response? What’s next Leave them in their mess? The reactions came pouring in on Twitter full of humor and disbelief.

“Either she has never wrestled a toddler during a change or worse, she just left hers in a dirty diaper until it was ‘ready to consent’. OMFG.”

“And what happens when baby says no? Do it anyway? Whoa now there is the real problem.”

Interesting food for thought, huh? Is the basic task of diaper changing now entangled in a web of consent protocols? Ask yourself: next time you’re stuck in this sticky situation, will you remember Deanne Carson’s advice? Or, like many parents, will you just get on with the job and save the belly laughs for later?

Super Bowl Champion Jacoby Jones Dead at Age 40

Jacoby Jones, a former NFL wide receiver and Super Bowl champion, died at his home in suburban Houston. He was 40.

A cause of death was not immediately announced when his death was announced on Sunday, July 14.

The Pro Bowler, drafted in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft, showcased his talents with the Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers. He also participated on season 16 of Dancing With the Stars, where he placed third.

Jones’ career shined during his time in Baltimore. He was celebrated for his electrifying performance in the 2012 playoffs, notably snagging a stunning 70-yard game-tying touchdown pass. He made history the following year with a record-breaking 108-yard kick return touchdown in Super Bowl XLVII, the longest in Super Bowl history, leading the Ravens to a 34-31 victory over the 49ers, marking San Francisco’s first-ever Super Bowl defeat.

Following his retirement in 2017, Jones returned to his alma mater, Lane College, to impart his wisdom as a wide receiver coach. He also lent his expertise to Morgan State before joining the coaching staff at Alabama State in 2022.

In the wake of the tragic news, NFL players and fans have taken to social media to pay tribute to Jones.

The Baltimore Ravens issued a statement expressing their sorrow on Sunday, July 14.

“We are completely heartbroken to learn about the passing of Jacoby Jones. Jacoby had the unique ability to connect with everyone he encountered. His charisma, joy, and love created a one-of-a-kind presence that could light up any room or brighten any dark day,” the statement read. “Jacoby will long be remembered not just for his success on the football field, but for the lasting personal connections he made with countless people in the Ravens organization, Baltimore community, and every area he called home. We share our deepest condolences with Jacoby’s family as we all begin to process this devastating loss.”

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh also shared a touching message:

“I loved Jacoby Jones. We all did. His spirit, enthusiasm, and love for people were powerful. He was a light. He was the cherished son of his loving mom, Ms. Emily. They were so close. He was a man of faith. My favorite football play was when Jacoby was talking to his mom in the end zone, just before a late-game kickoff return against the Vikings in a snowstorm shootout. Jacoby then raced to catch the ball and run it back for a touchdown. My favorite Jacoby personal moment was every time I saw his smiling face full of Joy. Rest in peace, Jacoby, in the arms of Jesus.”
Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin also shared his condolences via X, writing, “My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Jacoby Jones during this difficult time. I enjoyed coaching him during his time with the Steelers.”

Baggage handler reveals why you should never tie a ribbon on your luggage

If you’ve ever spent any amount of time at an airport scanning the baggage carousel for your prized possessions, you’ll understand the stress of seeing hundreds of near identical suitcases passing by on the conveyor belt.

While resourceful travelers discovered that securing a ribbon to their luggage makes theirs stand out from the restan airport worker is warning passengers that using personal markers comes with the kind of baggage you can’t unload.

Keep reading to learn why you should never use ribbons or travel with marzipan!

The thought of losing baggage while travelling can strike fear into even the most seasoned of travelers.

To reduce the risk of having luggage taken by another passenger, or of watching luggage slowly swirl by repeatedly on the conveyor belt, travelers are attaching colorful ribbons to their suitcases to make sure it stands apart from the rest.

But according to a Dublin Airport baggage handler, who goes by the name John, these popular tricks are doing more harm than good.

In fact, it can make your worst travel nightmare come true.

Leave the ribbon at home

Speaking to RSVP Live, John revealed that tying identifying ribbons on your luggage can cause delays, meaning your belongings might miss the flight.

“Ribbons that people tie onto their suitcases to help identify them can cause issues with the bag being scanned in the baggage hall,” John told the outlet. “If the bag can’t be scanned automatically it can end up in manual processing, which could mean your bag doesn’t make it to the flight.”

Checking in your suitcase without identifiers, like ribbons and old travel stickers, gives it a better chance of arriving easily.

John offers: “Take old stickers off the bag, it can cause confusion with the scanning process.”

Another thing that can cause problems with your baggage is marzipan, the delicious sugary almond treat, and John warns you may be flagged by security if you take it on vacation.

“Don’t ever pack marzipan in your luggage. It has the same density as some explosives, so your bag will be removed and you’ll be called from the plane for a bag search,” the Dublin baggage expert said.

Lastly, before sending your luggage down the small conveyor belt to handlers like John, make sure it’s wheels side up to avoid damage.

No more basic baggage

Luggage has evolved significantly in the past few decades and you no longer need to carry basic black, brown or navy baggage.

According to Travel & Leisure, black baggage “is one of the most – if not, the most – versatile color, which is why it’s so popular.”

The outlet writes, “For this reason, it’s worth selecting a different hue if you want your luggage to stand out at baggage claim. Instead, consider a patterned suitcase or perhaps one that comes in a bold color like hot pink.”

And, if you’re not fond of pink, you can find luggage in many bright, bold colors that will make your possessions stand out from the rest.

Or if you’re not willing to part with the containers you currently have, consider using fabric paint or stickers to add identifying features that won’t interfere with scanning.

The Dublin Airport handler’s tips should relieve some stress for travelers across the world!

Missing 6-year-old boy found shot dead alongside father inside isolated camper

A missing six-year-old boy was found dead alongside his father in what Michigan police are investigating as a murder-suicide.

The child’s mother contacted police Monday, August 19 after the boy’s father failed to return him to her custody on time. A multi-day search ensued, and on Wednesday, August 21 everyone’s worst fears were confirmed.

During the evening of August 19, Michigan’s Isabella County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a mother about her missing six-year-old son. The boy’s father was supposed to return him to her that morning, but he did not show up.

While the boy’s mother shared pictures of her son on Facebook, deputies went to Michael Steven Winchell’s house and searched for him and his son, Rowan Milford Morey.

Police continued searching for the next 24 hours, but could not locate Winchell or the child.

Detectives were able to locate a sibling of Winchell, but they too could not reach the 48-year-old father.

Family members arrived at Winchell’s property on August 21 to help with the search. While searching the grounds someone located an isolated camper in the rear of the property.

They broke one of the camper’s windows and saw Winchell who appeared to be dead. Police forced their way into the camper and found both Winchell and Rowan deceased.

While the case is still under investigation, initial reports suggest Winchell shot his son before turning the gun on himself.

“Thank you for sending your prayers for a safe return. Unfortunately our fears were confirmed and Rowan has been found but is no longer with us,” Rowan’s mother shared on Facebook after her son was located.

I have no words. How can a father shoot and kill his own son?

She Believed The Dog Had Numerous Bites, But The Doctor Examined It More Closely And Called The Police

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who shouldn’t be permitted to own or be around animals.

Hayden Howard discovered that her dog wasn’t feeling well a few years ago.

While she was inside, her English Mastiff Jackson had been playing in the backyard. It appeared as though he was covered in bug bites when she called him in.

However, upon closer inspection, she found that the reality was even worse.

In actuality, Jackson had numerous gunshot wounds.

”I was completely shocked, I didn’t know what to think,” Hayden told WXIN.

he immediately rushed Jackson to the veterinarian after realizing he had been shot. Upon examining Jackson, the veterinarian discovered a large number of little bullets that had been fired from a BB pistol.

“There was one stuck under his eyelid, one in his ear, one in his knee, they were everywhere,” Hayden says.

Jackson’s fur had to be shaved almost entirely by the veterinarian in order to remove the numerous plastic shells. He had to leave 20 rounds where they were and extracted a total of 27 bullets.

The veterinarian also discovered 20 other bullet holes throughout Jackson’s tiny frame.

He’d received almost 70 gunshot wounds.

“I have never seen an animal shot that many times,” Assistant Chief Craig Hayes of the Seymour Police Department stated, “It’s a very bad case and it’s sad to see.”

I find it incomprehensible that someone could do such a horrible thing to a dog, especially when the dog has never harmed anyone.

Police were pursuing the person who was thought to be the source of the gunfire, who was thought to be in a neighboring yard.

They quickly discovered that a neighbor’s house had a rifle stashed inside, along with some ammunition.

The Daily Mail stated that the cops discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his residence along with a BB pistol and pellets.

It is my sincere desire that the offender receives a lengthy prison sentence and bears the consequences of their actions.

Sincerely, I think they should never be allowed to approach an animal after they leave.

According to Hayden, Jackson is healing nicely despite his significant trauma.

Even though some news sources frequently refer to BB and pellet guns as “toys” or “fake,” these are actual weapons with serious potential for harm.

A crime should be treated as such when it is committed using a pellet or BB gun. It’s a real gun, and those who use it against innocent people ought to face appropriate legal consequences.

I sincerely hope Jackson recovers quickly and is able to play happily in his backyard once more.

My kid vanished when he was just 10…

In the bustling city, Joey quickly faced the harsh reality of starting from scratch. Yet, amid the chaos, he found a guiding light in his friend Dan, who became his mentor in navigating urban life. Despite Dan’s encouragement, the dream of becoming a doctor seemed increasingly distant as Joey struggled with the cost of living, working long hours for meager pay.

Still, Joey’s optimism kept him going. He postponed calls to Flora, hoping to one day share good news. Determined, he asked Dan, “When can I start making enough to cover my expenses?” Dan, ever supportive, replied, “Don’t worry, Joey. You’ll get there soon.” These words fueled Joey’s hope, even as his financial struggles threatened to derail his dreams.

As time went on, Joey’s path became more challenging than he had imagined. But fate had an unexpected twist in store. On a cold, icy day, Joey slipped and fell, only to be rescued by an elderly man named Mr. Clark, whose wise eyes and gentle smile seemed to carry a lifetime of experience.

After helping Joey, Mr. Clark handed him a business card and simply said, “Keep going, young man. You’re destined for greatness.” Joey was puzzled but intrigued by Mr. Clark’s words. He kept the card as a symbol of hope, not knowing that this chance encounter would soon change his life.

Reaching out to Mr. Clark opened doors Joey never knew existed. A world of opportunities and mentors unfolded before him, reigniting his focus and determination to become a doctor. With their guidance, Joey’s dream began to take shape once more.

Joey’s journey was anything but ordinary. It taught him resilience, the value of friendship, and the power of self-belief. With renewed passion and unwavering determination, he pressed forward, ready to conquer the challenges ahead.

And as for Flora, Joey’s loving mother, she may have started the day unaware of her son’s plans, but little did she know that his extraordinary journey would bring him back to her—not just as the son she knew, but as a doctor who had fulfilled his dreams and made her proud.

Joey’s story reminds us that the road to our dreams may be bumpy and uncertain, but with perseverance and the support of those who believe in us, we can overcome any obstacle. So, no matter your age, never stop chasing your dreams and believing in the magic that lies within you.
